Associate Director, Health Information Technology

Position Overview


The Associate Director, HIT is a leadership role responsible for leading a team of HIT Strategic Account Managers (HIT SAMs) in the WEST territory focused on the strategic prioritization of health information technology solutions intended to optimize workflows for both Organized Customers and Key Community Targets across the portfolio of products. In partnership with the account managers,), the HIT team will work with C/D Suite leaders and key decision makers to identify opportunities for optimizing the many HIT technologies (e.g., E.H.R., P.H.M., add-on Solutions) which are currently being used by health system customers in-market.


This role is also responsible for working closely with the HIT marketing function to develop and execute HIT strategy, as well as collaborating with the HIT Solutions Development team to shape future platforms, partnerships, and capabilities. The AD, HIT is responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, leading and performance managing the regional HIT SAM team while ensuring that all members of the team are functioning as engaged and proactive leaders within the account communities. Finally, this role is responsible for playing a key role in launching new products.


This position may be located at headquarters in Seattle, WA or Field Based – West part of the United States.


Essential Duties

include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the HIT team objectives, budget and revenue targets, and maintain ongoing reporting of progress with management team.

  • Assist in defining healthcare information technology (HIT) strategy for health systems.

  • Lead a team to establish relationships with high priority decision makers, Key Opinion Leaders, C-Suite, in health information technology to influence/change to portfolio specific workflows.

  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional team to uncover opportunities, and/or uncover underlying or unexpressed clinical/customer technology needs.

  • Conducts regular business reviews with regional leadership and HIT SAMs to monitor progress against goals, compliance, and career development.

  • Ensures key stakeholders are fully briefed and aligned on relevant business opportunities.

  • Align Prime Life Science HIT capabilities with customer E.H.R. capabilities.

  • Assist marketing in developing and proposing new resources and tools for use in-market.

  • Collaborate with HIT Solutions Team and HIT Marketing to share customer insights that inspire innovation and shape future HIT strategies, strategic partnerships, and customer-facing capabilities.

  • Ability to travel 60% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, healthcare or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience working in health information technology, marketing, or commercial field.

  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams.

  • Strong IT acumen & knowledge of EHR platforms (especially Epic).

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of how HIT is currently leveraged in US market and within health systems.

  • Demonstrated success in establishing, developing and maintaining relationships; influencing others.



Salary Range:

$147,000.00 - $234,000.00

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms, conditions, and eligibility requirements of the applicable plans.
